Envisioned in June 2025 by Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne, in partnership with We Make Places, a design and development firm, the renovation of two student housing facilities has just been completed.
The two buildings were modernized with the guidance and oversight of Audrey Gros, Director of Specific Housing. “The goal is to offer students a fresh and pleasant living environment,” explains Audrey Gros.
A Team Effort Dedicated to Student Well-Being

The result of several collaborative workshops bringing together all partners, this project reflects a shared ambition: to significantly improve students’ living conditions.
“We really felt heard, and that was very rewarding. We were able to exchange ideas many times,” says Céline Marcoz-Blondel, founder of We Make Places, who led the project alongside her colleague Nathalie Nivet.
The company designed spaces intended to foster community and social interaction among residents. “Several students told me they would finally be able to socialize,” adds Céline Marcoz-Blondel. “Others appreciated the electrical outlets installed in most of the common areas. It’s very gratifying to see our work recognized!”
In total, 25 workers contributed to the renovation work: 16 at the Maurepas student housing and 9 at the Massy student housing, in partnership with GMT and SMRD 92.
“I truly enjoyed contributing to this project. I want to thank everyone involved for this rich and constructive experience,” says Hervé Gautheron, Head of Work Quality for Housing at Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne. He oversaw the proper execution of the work on both sites.
“It’s the first time Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne have renovated student housing under their own name, and it’s a real success!” he adds.
Student Housing Designed for Students
Led by Audrey Gros and supported by Adrien Rolland, Director of Innovation at Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne, this ambitious renovation is built on three pillars: modernity, comfort, and community.
Managed by Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne, both student housing facilities now offer completely redesigned spaces tailored to students’ daily needs: a tea room, fitness area, coworking zones, and relaxation spaces that encourage social bonds and community life.
“We wanted to make a real impact. The aim was for current students to feel a genuine renewal—an ‘before/after’ Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne effect,” explains Adrien Rolland.
Spaces Designed for Well-Being
Everything has been designed to optimize residents’ comfort, safety, and quality of life. The modernized, welcoming common areas encourage interaction, collaborative work, and relaxation.
With this dual renovation, Les Résidences Yvelines Essonne reaffirm their commitment to student well-being and student success by offering modern, friendly, and purpose-built living spaces that meet today’s needs.
